Pine House: an FPV camera flight through the whole house
An FPV-drone style flight through the whole house, rendered frame by frame from the Pine House 3D model. The path is one spline that banks into the turns, and the key moments land on the music: the entry into the living room hits the drop. Next to the film sits the floor plan with the camera, its field of view and the path flown so far; the plan and the chapters seek the film.

The task
Show the house from inside the way an FPV drone would film it: one continuous flight with no cuts, and the viewer always knowing where they are.
What I did
- A path of 23 keyframes: a spline in time, banking from the lateral acceleration, clearance checks against walls, furniture and beams, never under 0.37 m
- The set dressed for the flight: a stove, lamps, textiles and plants inside, string lights and lanterns on the terrace, bollards along the path; the hall and living room lit for the shot
- 864 frames at 1280×720 rendered in three.js with ambient occlusion (GTAO) and motion blur like a 180° shutter
- Key moments on the music: the entry into the living room on the drop, the terrace and the turn on the starts of phrases
- Colour: the exposure follows the camera like auto-exposure, warm light inside and cold dusk outside, the optics of an FPV camera with distortion, chromatic aberration and grain
- Sound: the forest and the crickets duck when the camera is inside, the stove crackles by distance and direction, whooshes at the doors and the turn; master at −16 LUFS
- A player with a live plan: the camera, its view cone, the path flown, chapters, telemetry over the picture, seeking by a click on the route with a frame preview
Proof
- The plan next to the film comes from the same path the frames were rendered along: the dot on the plan is where the camera was at that moment
