The artist Alexander Bushuev’s site: a gallery and a catalogue of paintings

An artist’s site on WordPress: the home page has a painting as its cover with the artist’s monogram, the gallery sections, a biography and contacts; the catalogue lists the works by section, page by page; every painting has its own page with an “Order the painting” form. The layout uses the artist’s colours, a cream background and dark blue text, and on a phone everything rearranges into one column.

The artist Alexander Bushuev’s site: a gallery and a catalogue of paintings
A recording of the live site: the scrolling, the animations and the transitions as a visitor sees them. Switch between the computer and the phone; the sections on the right jump to that place on the page. Space pauses, the arrow keys move between sections.

The task

Make a site where the paintings come first: a visitor quickly finds the section they want, sees the size, the medium and the price, and can order a work right away.

What I did

  • Home page: a painting as the cover with the artist’s monogram, a gallery of six sections, a biography with a portrait, contacts
  • Catalogue: buttons switch the sections, 24 works per page with paging
  • A work’s card: title, size, medium, year, price and availability
  • A painting’s page: the work large and an order form with a name, a phone or Telegram, and a message
  • Mobile version: the gallery, the catalogue and the painting page in one column
  • Built on WordPress with WooCommerce and Elementor

Proof

  • The site is live: the “Open the site” button in the header
  • The page plays a recording of the site on a computer and on a phone
