A live site audit: crawl, checks, snippet, speed
A technical SEO audit that runs on the page and checks a real site: this one. The crawl reads sitemap.xml and every page in it, builds the internal link graph and checks what search promotion starts with: titles and descriptions with their width in the results, H1, canonical, ru ↔ en pairs, structured data, image alt text, page weight, pages with no inbound links and broken links. The Speed tab measures how this page loaded in your browser.
- 12
- checks for every page
- 4
- speed metrics in the browser
- 0
- external services: all in the browser
The interactive demo did not start in this browser, so a static version is shown.
The task
Show the technical side of search promotion not as screenshots of a report but as a live check of a real site that anyone can run.
What I did
- A crawl of sitemap.xml in four threads, every page parsed in the browser: title, description, H1, canonical, hreflang, JSON-LD, alt, links
- An internal link graph with a force layout: site sections by colour, dot size by inbound links; a click opens the page in the snippet tab
- 12 checks, from duplicate titles and descriptions to pages nothing links to and broken internal links
- A snippet with the title width in pixels, the way the results page measures it: you see where Google and Yandex will cut the text
- The speed of this page for the visitor: TTFB, FCP, LCP, CLS and what exactly was loaded
Proof
- The audit runs on the real site and shows its actual state, notes on what could be improved included
What else you can hand over to me
- A landing page for a service or course, with a booking form
- Finish or rebuild a site started by someone else
- HTML email templates for CRM mailings
- Speed up a site and fix the mobile version
- An SEO audit and a promotion plan
